The area offers splendid long walks or short strolls, revealing an abundance of breathtaking countryside and wildlife, including scenery from the ever popular  'Heartbeat' and the 'Harry Potter' films.
The Sidings overlooks The North Yorkshire Moors Railway which is most popular heritage railway in Britain. Steam locomotives take visitors through 18 miles of stunning countryside in one of the most beautiful national parks in the country, the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway runs between the historic market town of Pickering, Goathland (Aidensfield in the TV 'Heartbeat' series, and 'Hogsmeade' in the Harry Potter films.
